Her broad expertise allows her to anticipate emerging policy challenges and deliver strategic guidance to clients operating in high-profile and highly regulated industries.

Marykate’s foundation in state government is rooted in her many years with the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where she served as Associate Legal Counsel, Legislative Director, and Policy Analyst. She led a team responsible for covering all legislative committees of the General Court, drafted legislation and amendments, and provided policy recommendations for legislative leadership. Her ability to navigate procedural, political, and interpersonal dynamics of the State House, while maintaining collaborative relationships with agency officials, local officials, and advocacy groups, is a hallmark of her success.

Prior to joining Preti Strategies, Marykate served as Government Affairs Manager at one of New England’s largest healthcare organizations, where she led policy communications with lawmakers, regulators, trade associations, and external stakeholders to articulate and achieve policy goals. She also worked as an associate attorney at a boutique law firm in Boston specializing in government regulatory matters. Her experience in legal research, drafting, and strategy development adds valuable advisory skills to her policy background.

Marykate earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and B.S. in Marketing from Providence College. She resides on the South Shore with her husband.
