Al Minahan is a Senior Policy Advisor at Preti Strategies. With 30 years of experience as an advocate, policymaker and strategist, Al uses his long record of success across New England to serve his clients’ best interests.

Since his election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1977, Al has been a persuasive force among the region’s leaders in business and in politics. After seven years’ service as a legislator, Al began his public policy and communications business, where he has since represented and advanced the interests of his clients at the difficult nexus of commerce and government.

Al works with his clients to plan long-term public affairs strategies, stake out policy positions and craft effective messaging at crucial junctures. His contacts across industries and agencies are an invaluable resource in achieving lasting results and growing his clients’ businesses. Al lives in Wakefield, Massachusetts with his wife Joanne and three children. He is a graduate of Holy Cross College and served for a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. Al currently serves on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH).
